AMNEC Disclaimer

•Basic macronutrient and micronutrient supplementation as clinically indicated with good evidence of deficiency or likely deficiency as per evidence based recommendations are appropriate for all Dietitians (APDs) to use as part of their nutritional interventions.

•Nutraceuticals (NCs) containing probiotics, phytochemicals, bioactive compounds and culinary herbs/spices are within scope if supported by a strong evidence base and APD has checked for drug interactions.

​

•Medicinal herbal products that are in addition to the above should only be undertaken by the APD if they have additional training or dual qualifications  (e.g naturopathy) to prove expertise in this area.  APD must clearly disclose to the client the discipline for which they are providing the service (refer to new DA code of conduct)
